Projects In Our Lab How do children feel about math and space? As early as 1st or 2nd grade, girls report feeling higher anxiety when performing math than boys and both boys and girls start to think of math as “for boys”. This is surprising, especially since there is no evidence that boys and girls perform differently in math classes.

Dr. Sara Cordes’ Infant and Child Cognition Lab (ICCL), located on the main campus of Boston College, is looking for motivated and reliable undergraduates interested in participating in a paid summer research internship in developmental psychology. This is a great opportunity for students to gain valuable research experience in the field of cognitive development. Aug 4, 2023Students will be paid $600 per week plus provided on-campus housing across 10 weeks to participate. This internship will take place in-person on Boston College’s campus. Students will be provided with on-campus housing in addition to their stipend. There are four participating developmental psychology labs.

Boston College Infant and Child Cognition Lab Stacee received her Ph.D. from Boston College in 2008 where her research focused on the cognitive benefits of physical activity and complex motor learning. Graduate Student – Lindsey Hildebrand Lindsey is broadly interested in attitudes and beliefs about STEM and gender as well as the development of spatial and numerical cognition.
